Desert Park Lane Residence

Phoenix, Arizona

This modest home in an established neighborhood was due for renewal to heighten its appeal and increase its value. The interior was gutted and upgraded, and an old addition was demolished to make way for a new master bedroom with en suite bathroom and laundry area.

Ceilings in the new areas of the home were raised to over nine feet to create an expansive volume in the newly configured living, family room and dining room. A small, dated pass-through in the formerly cramped galley-style kitchen was transformed into a large counter that overlooks the newly enlarged kitchen, which features contemporary maple cabinets, new appliances and decorative tile work.

A new addition on the side of the home replaced the former carport, providing an enclosed two-car garage with additional area for storage, and leading directly into the kitchen.

Problem-solving

A hipped Dutch-gabled roof ties the new garage to the home, creating a seamless entity that marries well with the surrounding neighborhood of low, ranch-style homes.

Dated plumbing, wiring and fixtures were completely replaced, making the home move-in ready and "as good as new" throughout.

Client Testimonial

Clyde was able to make this a basically new home with all new systems while respecting the original architecture and neighborhood scale.
