This kitchen was enlarged to meet the needs of the client, a serious gourmet cook. High-end commercial appliances including a six-foot Viking gas cook top, glass-front refrigerator and freezer were incorporated into the home’s traditional ranch-style architecture, providing high-performance along with a sense of intimacy and warmth.

Knotty-pine custom cabinets, custom-milled knotty pine moldings and an elegant tile frieze incorporating a tomato motif contrast with the sleek efficiency of the commercial appliances.

Problem-solving

Compressors for the kitchen equipment were installed remotely in the adjacent garage to reduce noise while achieving commercial-grade performance.
